Circa 1950s Elinor Gay Mocha Chiffon Taffeta Dress
Wide, sweeping party dress with lace bodice, with chiffon behind the lace, and elbow-length sleeves. The neckline is scooped and trimmed in piping. There's also an underlay of mocha taffeta on the front. The skirt is voluminous, with a huge layer of box-pleated chiffon with a layer of the mocha taffeta underneath. There is a mocha tulle crinoline under it all, adding to the volume. A mocha-colored satin covered sash belt sits at the waist and adorned with silver seed beads and iridescent coppery pink sequins. The belt buckles in the back with a metal buckle . Zips up the back with a metal zipper and hook/eye closure. Skirt taffeta lining also has a hook/eye closure. Label reads Elinor Gay. Measurements are approximate: Bust - 34" Waist - 28" Hips - 38/Free Length from shoulder to hem - 42" Modern size 4/6. Dress is in excellent condition. Belt is in very good condition - the lining is separating - you can glue it down or take it off - either way it will work. It will be less stiff without the lining.
